Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 October 2026

BirdGarden is an iPhone game by Sedat Can Yalçın (“I”, “me”). This policy explains what data the game handles and why. It applies to BirdGarden on the App Store and to its TestFlight beta.

In short
  • No account. Your garden and progress are saved on your device.
  • Purchases go through Apple; the game never sees your card, name or Apple ID.
  • The only ads are short videos you choose to watch for a daily bonus. Nothing is sent to the ad provider until you choose one.
  • The game sends anonymous usage events so I can see which parts of the game are played. You can turn them off in Settings.
  • Your name, email, contacts, location, photos and anything you type are never collected.

Game data

BirdGarden saves your garden, discoveries, friendships and progress locally on your device. No account is required. Deleting the app deletes this data.

Purchases

Golden acorns, feathers and packs are bought through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment; BirdGarden never sees your card, your name or your Apple ID. The game only learns which product was bought and a transaction number, so it can put the purchase in your garden and not give it twice.

Optional videos (ads)

BirdGarden offers two small daily bonuses for watching a short video. Videos only play when you choose one; there are no other ads in the game. The videos come from Google AdMob. Nothing is sent to Google until the first time you choose to watch one.

When you watch, Google receives information about your device and the ad request, such as your IP address, device model, iOS version and how you interact with the ad, to show the video, prevent fraud and measure it. If you live in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, a Google consent form asks first how this may be used, and “Ad privacy choices” in Settings lets you change your answer. iOS also asks once whether apps may track you; if you allow it, Google may use your device's advertising identifier to make videos more relevant, and if you don't, it won't. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

A Garden Friend gets both bonuses without videos.

Usage analytics

To learn which parts of the game players use, BirdGarden sends anonymous usage events to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service based in Germany. An event says what happened in the game (for example: the app was opened, a bird was discovered, a nest fledged, an item was bought with in-game feathers, a pack was bought, a daily bonus was collected) and carries gameplay values such as species and zone names, counts, the session length and the number of days since install.

Each event also includes the app version, device model, iOS version, language, region and whether the app is a TestFlight build. Your install is identified only by a random number created by the game, which is hashed (scrambled one way) before it is sent. It is not your Apple advertising identifier and it is not linked to your Apple ID.

Purchase events name the product, never its price or your transaction. The developer cannot connect these events to you, and they are not used for advertising, sold or shared with anyone else. To stop all analytics, turn off “Share anonymous usage data” in Settings (at the foot of the journal); nothing more is sent from then on.

What is never collected

BirdGarden never collects your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, photos or anything you type. The advertising identifier is never sent to TelemetryDeck; Google only receives it for videos if you allow tracking, as described above.

Notifications

If you opt in, BirdGarden schedules local reminders on your device. They are created on your iPhone and do not send any data. You can turn them off at any time in the game's Settings or in iOS Settings.

TestFlight and feedback

If you test BirdGarden through TestFlight, Apple processes beta testing information under its TestFlight terms and privacy policy and may share test usage and crash information with the developer. If you voluntarily send feedback through TestFlight or email, the developer receives the information you include and uses it only to investigate problems and improve BirdGarden.

Children

BirdGarden does not ask for or knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

This policy will be updated before a future version changes how data is handled. The new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
